Memorial Gifts

Thank you for considering the Library as the beneficiary of your memorial gift. We are honored to accept these thoughtful donations. A memorial gift made in someone’s name is a powerful and positive message of support and kindness.

You may make a memorial donation on-line via credit card. You will have an opportunity to name the honoree in the on-line donation process.

Alternatively, you may send a check to the Library including the name of the person memorialized and the contact information for the person to be notified of your gift (family member of deceased, e.g). Specific gift amounts are never shared in the notification.

Those memorialized by a gift will be noted in the Library Bookends newsletter, published six times per year.

Should you wish to make a gift and have these monies spent in a specific way (the purchase of a particular book, e.g.), please contact Karen Bradshaw, Director of Development to coordinate this donation. This may be done before or after the on-line donation is complete.

Tribute Gifts

Financial tribute gifts often celebrate birthdays, milestones, anniversaries or other notable occasions. You may make a trubute donation on-line via credit card.

We also welcome gifts of tribute or honor books at any point in the year. We will be happy to work with you on finding an appropriate title if necessary.

Honor Book Weekend

Since 2001 we have partnered with the local bookstore Bank Square Books for our Honor Book Weekend, generally held in conjunction with National Library Week in early April. On these days, patrons and friends may visit the bookstore in downtown Mystic and browse through pre-selected titles for adults and children. Patrons purchase one (or more) titles from the bookstore for our Library collection to honor a friend or loved one. Each book you buy will have a custom bookplate created to record your donation.

This is a wonderful way to support the Library, a beloved local bookstore and honor a special someone! We have added hundreds of new titles for both adults and children each year through this collaborative effort.

Please contact Karen Bradshaw, Director of Development at (860) 572-8191 with any questions about memorial or tribute donations.

Thank you for your support!
